Festivities commenced on Wednesday, June 1 to celebrate the class of 2022 with the first in-person awards ceremony since the pandemic began. Sponsors and speakers from community organizations and Catholic high schools awarded students with prestigious honors and scholarships. The presenting sponsors included Lions Clubs International, Young Ladies Institute, the St. Joseph Parent Teacher Group, Salesian College Preparatory, Connie and Herb Wimmer Sr., and Knights of Columbus among others.
The celebration continued on Friday with a whole-school Baccalaureate Mass presided by Father Geoffrey Baraan and Father Rafal Duda. This Mass marked the second and final time the 2021-2022 school choir sang together. The Eighth Grade class concluded their academic years at St. Joseph School with a large prayer circle, noon dismissal bell, and farewell tunnel comprised of all students. In the evening, the graduates and their families took part in a final celebration through a traditional graduation ceremony at St. Joseph Church. Students recounted their years throughout elementary and middle school, earned their certificates, and received thunderous applause for their achievements.
